In 1985 Geisler penned one of the early responses to the growing and influential New Age Movement in the popular book: False Gods of Our Time: A Defense of the Christian Faith (Harvest House). He surveys several belief systems distinct from Theism: Atheism, Pantheism, Panentheism, Finite Godism, Deism, and Polytheism, and then turns to critique the two major opposing worldviews: Atheism and Pantheism. This is as early and basic of a theistic apologetic one will find from Geisler. Arguments for theism and miracles are put forward in the context of defeating atheism’s naturalism and Pantheism’s attack upon Christ. This book also followed the film documentary by the same title produced by Jeremiah Films.
